What to visit
Among museums and sites the Comune lists the Pinacoteca Civica, the Galleria d'Arte Contemporanea "O. Licini", the Museo dell'Arte ceramica, Forte Malatesta, the Cartiera Papale, the Archaeological Area and the Roman Bridge. Visit Ascoli features the Palazzo dei Capitani del Popolo (in piazza del Popolo), the greater cloister of San Francesco, the Teatro Ventidio Basso and archaeological itineraries along corso Mazzini.
Information and getting around
The Centro Informazioni Turistiche e Culturali is in piazza del Popolo; the Comune's tourism page offers leaflets in six languages and links to Visit Ascoli. To get around town the Comune lists tourist trains (Ascoli Explorer, Ascoli City Tour with an electric tourist minibus), free shuttle buses and taxis.
