The Asti year peaks in September: the Palio on the first Sunday of the month in piazza Alfieri, the Douja d'Or with tastings, masterclasses and showcooking in piazza San Secondo, and the Festival delle Sagre. The events leading up to the race start on the Thursday.

The Asti September
The three flagship events of the settembre astigiano are the Palio, the Douja d'Or and the Festival delle Sagre. The Palio is run on the first Sunday of September in piazza Alfieri, with events starting on the Thursday and the historical parade of about 1,200 participants in the afternoon.
Douja d'Or
The Douja d'Or is the city's wine event, linked to one of the main national wine competitions: tastings, shows, showcooking, masterclasses and cultural itineraries, with piazza San Secondo turned into the "Salotto del Vino" and events spread across other venues in the city.
