Study: the university centre for Medicine and Surgery TD (Unical–UMG)
Since 14 October 2024 Crotone has hosted, in its new university centre, the inter-university degree in Medicine and Surgery TD (Digital Technologies) of the University of Calabria and the "Magna Graecia" University of Catanzaro: Calabria's third medical school site, with 84 first-year places.

The course
The inter-university degree in Medicine and Surgery TD (Digital Technologies) was inaugurated on 14 October 2024, after a positive opinion from ANVUR. The Crotone site of the University of Calabria (Unical) is accredited as a decentralised teaching site; the administrative seat is the "Magna Graecia" University of Catanzaro (UMG). Unical teaches mainly in the first three years, UMG in the last three.
Numbers and facilities
The first year has 84 places. Classes are held at the new Polo universitario di Crotone, where Unical has set up a teaching centre with technological equipment, including a 3D anatomy table. Basic and pre-clinical subjects are integrated with artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. It is Calabria's third medical training site, after Cosenza and Catanzaro.
