Lecce health district
The city belongs to ASL Lecce's Lecce social-health district, based at via Miglietta 5, which also serves Arnesano, Cavallino, Lequile, Lizzanello, Monteroni, San Cesario, San Donato, San Pietro in Lama and Surbo. The district page lists among its services the patient registry (Anagrafe assistiti), the clinic's CUP/Ticket desk, the foreign-patients office (Settore Estero), home care (ADI) and family-health clinics (consultori); the district office answers on 0832 215286.
Hospital and emergency department
The city's hospital is the «Vito Fazzi», in piazza Filippo Muratore 1 (switchboard 0832 661111), with an emergency department (telephone 0832/661395). The hospital's page on the PugliaSalute portal shows patients waiting, patients being seen and average emergency waiting times over the last few hours. Its units include cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, paediatric surgery, neonatal intensive care and university oncology.
Family doctor and out-of-hours doctor
To choose or change a family doctor or paediatrician, go to the district's patient registry (Anagrafe assistiti); the ASL's «Medicina generale e pediatrica» section lists doctors with surgery address, hours, contacts and whether they accept new patients. The out-of-hours doctor service (guardia medica, continuità assistenziale) runs at night and on Sundays, public holidays and the days before them: you reach it by phone or by going to the sites listed by the ASL, and the doctor can make urgent home visits, prescribe urgent medicines and issue sick notes for up to three days.
