The five museum sites

The Sistema Museale Urbano Lecchese (Si.M.U.L.) has five sites. Palazzo delle Paure, in the historic centre, hosts temporary exhibitions; Villa Manzoni is devoted to the life and work of Alessandro Manzoni; Palazzo Belgiojoso, also in the centre, offers exhibition space for art shows and events; the Torre Viscontea, a medieval tower the Comune calls a historic symbol of the city, hosts exhibitions and cultural activities and offers panoramic views; the Polo archivistico, at via Gaetano Previati 1, preserves the local archival heritage.

Villas and collections

The Comune also organises openings of villas, such as the tour of the Maggianico villas (Ponchielli, Gomes and Ghislanzoni), and the Fototeca holds a collection of historical images and visual documents available for research and projects. The civic museums' secretariat is at largo Caleotto 29/30.
