Daily life: residence online via ANPR, S.EC.AM. waste service and the new via Ventina recycling centre

Residence is declared online on the ANPR portal or by certified e-mail, registered post or in person by appointment, within twenty days of moving and free of charge. Waste is managed by S.EC.AM. with door-to-door collection; since 4 February 2026 the via Ventina recycling centre serves Sondrio and four neighbouring comuni.

Residence

A change of residence can be declared online on the ANPR portal with a digital identity, by certified e-mail (PEC) to protocollo@cert.comune.sondrio.it (from another PEC account, not ordinary mail), by registered post to the Ufficio Anagrafe or in person by phone appointment. The declaration must be made within twenty days of the change of usual dwelling, signed by all adults in the household, with an identity document and a valid title to the home; foreign citizens add their permit or residence card. Residence takes effect from the date of the declaration and is confirmed within two working days of receipt; within 45 days the office checks the address through the Polizia Locale. The service is free. The Comune also issues and renews the Electronic ID Card (CIE).

Registry office

The Ufficio Anagrafe is at largo Sindelfingen 23, Centro commerciale La Piastra (0342 526200 / 0342 526201, anagrafe@comune.sondrio.it); for postal correspondence the same page gives piazza Campello 1.

Waste

Urban hygiene is managed by S.EC.AM. S.p.A. (via Vaoni 79, number 800919106) and the main service is door-to-door collection. The via Ventina recycling centre (ecocentro), opened on 4 February 2026, is for separated, bulky, hazardous or special waste and serves Sondrio, Albosaggia, Caiolo, Castione Andevenno and Montagna in Valtellina; the old via Samaden centre is closed. Calendars and hours must be looked up on the S.EC.AM. site. The Comune also offers enrolment in home composting, used-clothes collection and community gardens (orti sociali).
