Who covers the city
Community healthcare is run by Azienda USL Umbria 2. The Terni district, the trust's most populous, serves the municipalities of Terni, Acquasparta, Arrone, Ferentillo, Montefranco, Polino, San Gemini and Stroncone and is based at viale Donato Bramante 37 (switchboard 0744 2041). Within the city, access to community services goes through the health centres — no. 1 Tacito-Valnerina and no. 3 Colleluna-San Gemini-Acquasparta — and the Casa della Comunità at viale Trieste 70.
Santa Maria hospital
The city hospital is the Azienda Ospedaliera Santa Maria, a trust separate from the USL: in its 2024 health report it describes itself as a wide-area hospital and a level-II DEA (emergency department) site, with an Emergency and Admissions Department comprising the emergency room, emergency medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care, and emergency surgery. It is affiliated with the University of Perugia, which runs part of its Medicine and Surgery degree there.
