Housing: applying for public housing (SAP) on the regional platform, with help from the housing office
In Varese public homes, owned by the municipality or by ALER, are allocated through calls issued at least once a year and published on the municipal website. Applications are entered online on the Regione Lombardia platform with a digital identity, ISEE and a 16-euro revenue stamp; the municipal housing office in via San Giusto helps those who have difficulties. How it works
The service covers publicly owned homes, belonging to the municipality or to A.L.E.R. (the regional public-housing company), and is open to residents of the Varese district area. Under current rules a call for allocations is issued at least once a year; its opening period is not fixed, depends on the homes available and is announced on the municipal website (the «Avviso SAP 2026» is attached to the service page).
How to apply
Applicants enter the application themselves on the Regione Lombardia website, in the regional computerised system; those who have difficulties can get help from the municipal housing office (Ufficio Alloggi) at via San Giusto 6. They need a valid ISEE, the tax code of every household member, any disability certificates, a 16-euro revenue stamp and a digital identity: SPID, electronic identity card with PIN, or health card/CNS/CRS with PIN.
