Where and in which language
Milan has the highest concentration of international students in Italy and the widest range of English-taught courses, especially at the Politecnico and Bocconi. The main problem is housing: student rents in Milan are the highest in the country and public beds cover a small share of demand; Pavia, Bergamo and Brescia cost noticeably less.
Grants and halls
Unlike other regions, Lombardy has no single student-support agency: each year the Region sets by resolution the criteria and amounts of grants and the regional DSU tax (three ISEE bands), while each university, AFAM and SSML publishes its own call and manages grants, halls and canteens. You apply to the institution you enrol in, with the university ISEE.
