  • Università del Piemonte Orientale (UPO) – public, Vercelli, Novara (medicine), Alessandria
  • University of Gastronomic Sciences – non-state, Pollenzo (Bra), courses in English
  • Accademia Albertina, Verdi Conservatory and other AFAM institutes in Turin, Cuneo, Novara, Alessandria

Where and in which language

The Polytechnic attracts the highest share of international students, with master's degrees taught entirely in English; the University of Turin offers English-taught courses mainly in economics, science and medicine. Turin is a large university city: student housing is under pressure in the areas near the campuses (Vanchiglia, San Salvario, Crocetta, Cittadella Politecnica).

Grants and halls

Student support (income- and merit-based grants, beds in halls, canteens, rent contributions) is managed by EDISU Piemonte, the single regional body for all universities in the region: the call is published every summer and applications are online with the university ISEE (or equivalent ISEE for international students). Students from abroad should allow plenty of time for the consular documentation required.
