Where and in which language

Perugia is a medium-sized university city with a long tradition of welcoming foreign students, thanks to the University for Foreigners and exchange programmes; rents are lower than in Florence, Bologna and Rome and the historic centre is lived in by students. The University of Perugia offers some English-taught master's degrees; the University for Foreigners' courses are aimed at anyone wanting to learn Italian at any level. Terni has a smaller campus focused on medicine and engineering.

Grants and halls

Student support is managed by ADiSU Umbria (Agency for the Right to University Study), the single regional body for both universities and the AFAM institutes: annual call for grants, beds in the Perugia and Terni halls, canteens and contributions, with online application and the university ISEE. Umbria has historically guaranteed grants to all eligible students.
