Hospitals and emergency rooms

The Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria delle Marche, integrated with the Università Politecnica delle Marche, has two sites: at Torrette (via Conca 71) the university-oriented Umberto I hospital with the Lancisi cardiology hospital, and in the city centre the Salesi children's hospital. It hosts the region's only level-II DEA, the core of the regional emergency network with the air ambulance, and is the reference centre for kidney and liver transplants. There are three emergency rooms: adult at Torrette, paediatric and obstetric-gynaecological at the Salesi.

INRCA

Ancona is also the registered seat of the IRCCS INRCA, the scientific research hospital dedicated to ageing, with a city hospital site at via della Montagnola 81: its wards include geriatrics, neurology with a stroke unit, and cardiology with a coronary intensive care unit.

Bookings and test results

Visits and tests in the region's public facilities are booked and cancelled through the single regional CUP; online, the MyCUPMarche portal lets you book by entering the electronic prescription number (NRE). Lab results can be read through the electronic health record and the Region's online results service.

Opening hours, locations and access rules change: check the AST di Ancona or AOU delle Marche websites, or the Regione Marche health portal, before acting.
