Historic centre
According to the regional guide, the Colossus (a 4.5-metre bronze, in late-Roman imperial dress holding a cross) stands on corso Vittorio Emanuele, near the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre, built around 1100 in Apulian Romanesque style with Eastern influences; its chapel holds the Treasure of the Holy Sepulchre. The Duomo has a Romanesque front and a Gothic rear, with three naves.
Castle and Cantina della Sfida
The Castle, which the Comune describes as sixteenth-century in appearance and of origin that cannot be dated precisely, houses on its first floor the Museo Civico and Galleria, with paintings from the 15th to the 19th century. The Cantina della Sfida is the museum in the centre linked to the Disfida. Of the city walls, Porta Marina, the sea walls, the Paraticchio bastion and a small bastion on via Galliano remain.
Canne della Battaglia
The Comune presents the hill of Canne and the surrounding areas, with remains of huts, pit tombs and Iron Age urns that testify to settlement since prehistory.
