Registry office
The Registry Services Office (Ufficio Servizi Demografici), at via Vintler 16, handles residence, registry certificates, identity cards, travel documents, marriage, civil union, separation and divorce, citizenship, elections and registration of births and deaths. Access is by appointment only, bookable online, except for documented emergencies; the office is open in the mornings Monday to Friday and on Thursday afternoons too.
Waste
Paper, cardboard, plastic packaging, glass and metal go to the city's roughly 400 recycling points (isole ecologiche). Organic waste goes in brown condominium bins, emptied twice a week; residual waste in green condominium bins with a lock and microchip, emptied once a week on the zone's collection days. Both stand on private property and must be put out on public ground to be emptied.
In the historic centre many buildings have no organic bin: there is a mobile collection point, and residual waste goes in SEAB bags with an electronic tag, collected three times a week; extra bags are sold at SEAB counters or at the Bolzano Centro car park cashier. Outlying streets that trucks cannot reach get a reduced service and pay a lower tariff. Everything else goes to the Recycling Centre and the Green Waste Collection Centre.
