City hall
Residence, electronic ID card and certificates are requested at the Comune di Campobasso registry desks, at Palazzo San Giorgio in piazza Prefettura, by appointment or walk-in, and online with SPID or CIE; waiting times are short compared with big cities. The municipal portal publishes calls (housing, nurseries, subsidies), notices and the reporting service. The Sportello unico per l'immigrazione is at the Prefecture, in the centre.
Waste and water
SEA – Servizi e Ambiente S.p.A., the Comune's company, manages sorted waste collection with door-to-door service across the whole city: weekly calendar by fraction (organic, paper, plastic and metals, glass, residual) with containers provided, a drop-off centre for bulky items and home pickup by booking; the website shows the calendar by zone. The TARI waste tax is paid to the Comune.
Mains water is drinkable and of good quality, with regional bulk supply and municipal distribution; during summer droughts the Comune may order night-time pressure reductions, announced on its portal.
Shopping
The Murat centre has neighbourhood shops, grocers, cheese shops and pastry shops along the corso and via Roma; the weekly open-air market is held in a dedicated area near the centre; supermarkets and shopping centres are in Vazzieri, San Giovanni and along the roads to Termoli and Bojano, reached by car or urban bus. Duty pharmacies are listed by the Comune and the pharmacists' association.
Libraries and orientation
The Pasquale Albino provincial library, in the centre, is the main public library with lending, periodicals and study rooms; the UniMol library at Vazzieri is open to enrolled students. The Comune's Informagiovani gives guidance on study, work and European opportunities; the Campobasso CPIA offers free Italian courses for foreigners; partner associations run desks for permits and housing.
