The Cavalcata dell'Assunta
According to the Visit Fermo site, the Cavalcata has first historical records dating back to 1182 and is a historical re-enactment held on the evening of 14 August and the afternoon of 15 August through the city streets. In its modern form it turned forty in 2021.
The contrade
Ten contrade take part, each with a Priore as its main figure, its own colours, a coat of arms and a shield bearing its motto. As in the Middle Ages, the procession of the contrada members and the city's political figures parades on the evening of 14 August. The site pairs the Cavalcata with other signature events such as Fermo Magica and the Gran Premio di Capodarco.
