Who covers the city
The Genoa area belongs to ASL3, organised in six socio-health districts: 8 Ponente (Voltri, Pra', Pegli), 9 Medio Ponente (Sestri Ponente and Sampierdarena-Fiumara), 10 Valpolcevera and Valle Scrivia (Bolzaneto, Pontedecimo, Certosa, Rivarolo), 11 Centro (Casa della Comunità Assarotti and the XII Ottobre clinic), 12 Valbisagno and Valtrebbia (via Archimede, Struppa) and 13 Levante (Quarto, with a Community Hospital). In many neighbourhoods the first point of access is the district's Casa della Comunità.
Hospitals and emergency rooms
The emergency department of the San Martino Polyclinic (entrance on via Francesco Mosso, open 24/7) is a level-2 DEA, with a separate obstetric-gynaecological emergency room at pavilion 2. In the ASL3 network, the Villa Scassi hospital in Sampierdarena is the reference DEA; the Micone hospital in Sestri Ponente has a first-aid point open daily 8–20 and the Gallino in Pontedecimo a walk-in clinic with direct access in the same hours, for low-complexity cases. In an emergency call 112.
