Leisure: Lago Patria, the coast, library and festivals
Lago Patria is a Natura 2000 special area of conservation, with migratory and wintering birds. On the coast, between Licola and Varcaturo, the Comune has opened an equipped, accessible free beach. In town there are the municipal library on via Verdi and the feast of San Giuliano in September; the municipal park is listed as closed.

Lago Patria
Lago di Patria is a special area of conservation (SAC) of the European Natura 2000 network, code IT8030018, designated in 2019 and managed by the Campania Region over 507 hectares. The site's data form describes it as a brackish lake of volcanic origin near the Tyrrhenian Sea, with examples of sandy-coast vegetation, juniper, myrtle and mastic scrub, and a rich population of migratory and wintering birds, including the black-winged stilt and the stone-curlew. The sea
The municipality's coast corresponds to the Licola–Varcaturo coastal strip, one of the zones into which the OMI divides the territory. In July 2024 the Comune opened, for the second year, an equipped, accessible and inclusive free beach in piazza Cristoforo Colombo, Licola Mare, designed so that everyone, including people with disabilities, can use the beach and its services.
In town
The municipal library, via Giuseppe Verdi 6, is open to everyone: it holds fiction, non-fiction, school texts and magazines, offers digital services and study desks, and runs workshops, author talks and events for children and schools. The Villa comunale park on corso Campano 410 is listed as closed to the public on the Comune's page, last updated in June 2024.
Festivals
The patronal feast of San Giuliano martyr takes place in September, with a week of prayer and celebrations between the mother church of Santa Sofia, in piazza Matteotti, and the parish church of Sant'Anna; in the programme published by the Comune it runs from 9 to 19 September.
