Who covers the city

Community healthcare is run by the Latina ASL through Health District 3, based at piazza Angelo Celli and covering five municipalities: Latina, Pontinia, Norma, Sermoneta and Sabaudia. The other districts cover the rest of the province, from Aprilia to the Pontine islands.

Santa Maria Goretti hospital

The city hospital, on via Scaravelli, is a level-I DEA (emergency department) site and provides hospital support for the northern area of the province; it forms the ASL's Northern Hospital Unit, while the authority's other hospitals are in Terracina, Fondi and Formia.

Family doctor

You choose or revoke your GP at the desks of your district of residence or by emailing the relevant office (for District 3: sceltamedico.distretto3@ausl.latina.it), presenting an identity document, tax code and health card; the request form can be downloaded from the ASL website.

Out-of-hours care

For non-urgent care when your GP is off duty, the reference in the province is 116117, the European number for non-urgent medical care: it answers around the clock and connects you to the continuità assistenziale service during its operating hours. It is not an emergency number: for emergencies call 112.

Opening hours, locations and rules change: check the ASL Latina website (ausl.latina.it) or ask your district before acting.
