Hospital and emergency room

The city hospital is the Ospedali Riuniti di Livorno, at viale Alfieri 36, one of the 13 hospitals of the Azienda USL Toscana nord ovest and the provincial reference: it provides basic care for residents and highly specialised services, with an emergency room and wards such as cardiology with coronary care unit, neurosurgery, orthopaedics and traumatology, oncology and nuclear medicine.

The local network: Zona Livornese

Local services come under the Zona Livornese: in the city the Livorno Centro district office is on viale Alfieri, and four community facilities operate — the Case della Comunità Livorno Centro (via Ernesto Rossi 46), Livorno Est (via Peppino Impastato), Livorno Sud (via del Mare) and the Livorno Nord socio-health centre (via della Fiera di S. Antonino) — alongside family clinics, blood-draw points and mental health and addiction services.

Bookings and out-of-hours care

Visits and exams are booked through the Azienda USL Toscana nord ovest CUP, 0585 498498 (Monday-Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-1pm).
