Work: boatbuilding, paper and machinery in the province's exports
According to the Toscana Nord-Ovest Chamber of Commerce, exports from the province of Lucca in 2025 were 5.398 billion euro (-2.6%), with boatbuilding and the paper industry as the main sectors. In 2025 the number of firms in the city grew by 0.7%. The job centre is in San Vito, on via Vecchia Pesciatina.

What the province produces
According to the Toscana Nord-Ovest Chamber of Commerce, in 2025 the province of Lucca exported 5.398 billion euro (-2.6% after the previous year's record). Boatbuilding sold about 1.3 billion abroad, the paper industry about 1.2 billion (744 million in paper and board products and 455 million in pulp) and paper-related machinery 578 million (-9.9%); next come wiring equipment (320 million), oil (291 million), pharmaceuticals (178 million) and general-purpose machinery (145 million). The main markets are France, the United States and Germany.

In 2025 the number of firms in the province grew by 0.3%; in the Piana di Lucca growth was 0.4%, with the capital at +0.7%.
Job centre
Public employment services are run by ARTI, the Tuscan regional employment agency. The Lucca job centre is on via Vecchia Pesciatina, at the corner of via Lucarelli, in the San Vito area.
