Municipal IRPEF surcharge

The Comune levies the municipal surcharge on IRPEF (personal income tax) under a regulation adopted in 2007 and amended several times, most recently by council resolution no. 80 of 13 November 2023. Those whose total income, net of deductible expenses, does not exceed 15,000 euros do not pay it; above the threshold the surcharge is due and is calculated by applying each bracket's rate.

For 2025 the city council (resolution no. 92 of 9 December 2024) set rates from 0.78% to 0.80%, applied to the income brackets laid down by national IRPEF law, and confirmed the exemption threshold.

Regional pass voucher

For 2026 the Regione del Veneto offered adults resident in Veneto who own, or are first registered holders of, a car or motorcycle a voucher that lowers the price of an annual pass (of at least ten months) on urban and extra-urban bus and tram services in the provincial capitals, Padua included, or on regional trains starting or ending in a capital. The voucher is higher for those who did not benefit from the previous call. According to the University of Padua the 2026 edition stayed open until 12:00 on 31 August 2026 or until funds ran out: for later editions, check the Region's page.

At night: QuiBus

QuiBus is an on-demand night service set up by the University, the Comune and Busitalia Veneto, the operator of the urban buses and tram. It covers the municipal area and runs every day until midnight, and until 1 a.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; it is booked and paid in the QuiBus app from one week until five minutes before departure and is open to registered users only (Unipd students use their university account).
