Hospitals and emergency room
The ASP's hospitals in Ragusa are the "Giovanni Paolo II" at via Vittorio Tiralongo (0932 600111, 0932 600067) and the "Maria Paternò Arezzo" at contrada Rito (0932 600111). The ASP's "Pronto Soccorso Ragusa" page shows live data and explains the priority codes: for the white code (non-urgent) the service involves a payment of 25 euros. 118 is free of charge and runs 24 hours a day.
Bookings and family doctor
The CUP takes bookings by phone on 0932 658702 (Monday to Friday 8:30-13:00, Tuesday and Thursday also 15:00-17:00; only with a white prescription), at the counters of the hospitals and district sites, in participating pharmacies and online. A doctor's request and the health card are needed; a first visit without a prescription is allowed for dentistry, obstetrics-gynaecology, psychiatry, child neuropsychiatry and ophthalmology (eyesight measurement only). The ASP's online services portal lets you change or revoke the family doctor without going to the counter.
