Who covers the city

The comune falls under the AUSL della Romagna, whose head office is in Ravenna itself, at via De Gasperi 8. The trust runs 7 main hospital groups totalling 13 hospital sites across the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini.

Hospital and emergency room

The city hospital is the "Santa Maria delle Croci", Ravenna's hospital complex at viale Randi 5, a level-II DEA (emergency and acceptance department) site. The complex also houses the outpatient clinic, the rapid-response laboratory and the admissions office.

CAU: low-complexity urgent care

Ravenna's Assistance and Urgency Centre (CAU), at via Fiume Abbandonato 134, is open every day from 8am to 8pm: out-of-hours doctors and nurses handle urgent but low-complexity problems. The visit and some tests (ECG, certain blood tests) are free for residents and people registered with the Region; for everyone else the visit costs 20 euro. For serious conditions (chest pain, breathing difficulty) always call 118. The province also has CAUs in Cervia, Lugo, Conselice and Castel Bolognese, each with its own hours; waiting times for CAUs and emergency rooms are shown in the "Pronto Soccorso Romagna" app.

Opening hours, locations and access rules change: check the AUSL della Romagna website before visiting a facility.
