Who covers the city and the hospital
On its page on choosing a doctor ASL Rieti lists two districts, Reatino and Sabino. Rieti belongs to the Distretto Reatino, in the Rieti primary-care operating unit. The hospital is the San Camillo de Lellis, at viale J.F. Kennedy snc (switchboard 0746/2781): the ASL's entry lists it as "Dea I Livello" within the Polo Ospedaliero Unificato Rieti – Amatrice and mentions emergency-room OBI and paediatric emergency-room OBI among its care forms.
Emergency room: access
Under the visitor rules in force since 3 July 2023, visiting patients in the emergency room is not allowed unless authorised by the doctor in charge; caregivers may enter all wards, emergency room included, from 7:00 to 22:00 in the cases provided (for example a minor patient, a bedridden patient over 80 or one with a disability recognised under art. 3 par. 3 of law 104/92).
Family doctor
The lists of family doctors and paediatricians of the district are available at the district desks and on the Lazio Region website. You can also choose or revoke a doctor remotely by sending the completed form, a copy of your ID and of your health card: for the Rieti office to medicinadibasedistretto1@asl.rieti.it. The ASL also has pages on first registration with the national health service for EU and non-EU citizens, registering newborns and temporary choice for residents of another area living in Rieti.
