Who covers the city
The city is in ASL 2 Savonese, whose head office is at piazza Sandro Pertini 10. The Savona District is at via Collodi 13 (tel. 019 840 5743 / 5968, Monday-Friday 9 to 12) and includes the Community Houses of Savona and Vado Ligure.
Hospital and emergency
The city hospital is San Paolo, at via Genova 30 (switchboard 019 840 41; admissions 019 840 4872, Monday-Friday 8-12, on the ground floor of the Monoblocco). The hospital's page does not describe the emergency department: real-time waiting times are on ASL 2's site and emergencies are called on 112.
GP and bookings
ASL 2's site has an online service to choose, revoke and change GP and a «Doctors and paediatricians» page. Telephone bookings have a single number, 010 5383400, and online booking is available.
Out-of-hours doctor
The continuity-of-care service is reached on the toll-free number 800 556 688, valid across the province of Savona (calls are recorded), and provides home visits: on weekdays from 20:00 to 08:00, from Saturday 08:00 until Monday 08:00, and on pre-holidays from 08:00 until 08:00 the day after the holiday. It is free for Liguria residents and people temporarily registered in the regional health register; non-residents pay the doctor directly (the amount is not stated on the page).
