Municipal IRPEF surcharge
Verona levies the municipal surcharge on IRPEF (personal income tax) at a single rate of 0.80%. The regulation, adopted in 2013, was updated by council resolution no. 9 of 2 February 2023, which raised the exemption threshold from 10,000 to 12,000 euros of income.
Municipal taxes and charges in 2026
Presenting the 2026–2028 budget on 1 December 2025, the Comune announced no increases in rates or charges: IMU property tax, the IRPEF surcharge and the tourist tax stay stable. In the same release the Comune states that its TARI waste tax is the lowest among Veneto's provincial capitals after Belluno.
Regional pass voucher
For 2026 the Regione del Veneto offered adults resident in Veneto who own, or are first registered holders of, a car or motorcycle a voucher that lowers the price of an annual pass (of at least ten months) on urban and extra-urban bus services in the provincial capitals, Verona included, or on regional trains starting or ending in a capital. The voucher is higher for those who did not benefit from the previous call.
