Businesses
The 2026 planning document of the Chamber of Commerce of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo Valentia reports, for the three provinces together, 64,846 registered businesses, of which 56,957 active at the end of 2024. Active businesses rose by 41 against 2023, and the growth is entirely due to Vibo Valentia, where there are 84 more: it is the only one of the three provinces with a positive sign.
Employment and exports in the area
For the three-province area the same document estimates about 204 thousand people in work in 2024, 340 exporting firms and a 13.0% fall in exports against 2023, mostly in textiles. It does not publish a sector breakdown for the province of Vibo Valentia alone.
The port and the sectors cited by the municipality
The municipality writes that the economy rests on industry, tourism, crafts and farming, and that the port of Vibo Marina is important for trade, fishing and tourism. The page on Vibo Marina adds that the port is specialised in the distribution of oil and cement.
