Limits on short-term tourist lets

With the resolution passed by the city council on 4 June 2026, the Regulation on short-term tourist rentals, in force since 31 May 2025, was extended to the «first ring» around the historic core (zone A, subzones A3 and A4): there, short-term tourist lets are limited to the units already lawfully used this way when the new rule came into force, so no new ones can be opened. Each unit needs a five-year authorisation under Tuscan regional law 61/2024.

According to the press, the nine areas affected include Statuto and Rifredi, together with Campo di Marte, San Jacopino, Gavinana, Libertà and others. Lets already operating have until 2028 to meet the new requirements.
