Shopping and markets
Shopping is done on via Pacini, via Porpora and viale Romagna, with neighbourhood supermarkets, bakeries and shops that also live off the student trade (copy shops, stationers, takeaway food). The nearest weekly street markets of Municipio 3, with streets, days and hours, are in the official Comune list cited. For big purchases people head to corso Buenos Aires, ten minutes' walk from Loreto.
Green space and libraries
The quarter's green is the gardens of piazza Leonardo da Vinci and the tree-lined avenues; for a real park take M2 to Udine or walk beyond the railway to Parco Lambro, or ten minutes to the Montanelli gardens at Porta Venezia. The municipal libraries of reference are Venezia (via Frisi 2/4, Municipio 3) and Lambrate (via Valvassori Peroni 56); the Politecnico and Statale libraries are open to enrolled students.
Health, schools, services
Health: ATS Città Metropolitana di Milano for GP registration and local services; the quarter hosts the National Cancer Institute and the Besta neurological institute (via Venezian/via Celoria), both specialist hospitals, while the nearest general A&E is at the Policlinico or the Fatebenefratelli. Schools: state nursery, primary and middle schools in the quarter, the Liceo scientifico Einstein on via Einstein; catchment enrolment on the Comune website. University services (canteens, help desks, study rooms) are a resource also for non-students, within access rules.
