Housing in the historic centre

Historic buildings in a UNESCO site where upkeep of the ordinary fabric is the weak point UNESCO identifies. The centre's quarters are in the Campi Flegrei yellow zone; Montecalvario is partly in the red zone too. Reference OMI values are in the data below.

The buildings

The UNESCO entry for the Historic Centre names as the property's main vulnerability the lack of maintenance of the non-monumental urban fabric, that is, ordinary buildings, homes included: anyone buying or renting should ask about the condition of the common parts and planned building works.

Volcanic risk

Avvocata, Mercato, Montecalvario, Pendino, Porto, San Giuseppe, San Lorenzo and Vicaria are among the 24 Naples quarters in the Campi Flegrei yellow zone, exposed to possible ash fall. Part of Montecalvario is also in the red zone, where preventive evacuation is planned in case of alarm: in that quarter it is worth checking the address against the Civil Protection Department's planning.
