Businesses and workforce

The Chamber of Commerce's analysis of Business Register and INPS data at the end of 2024 shows that the city itself holds 25% of the province's businesses and the Padua district, meaning the city plus the municipalities of its urban belt, 38%. The district accounts for over 41% of the province's workforce and more than one business in two there works in services; together with the Alta Padovana it has the highest average in the province, 3.9 workers per local unit. Between 2020 and 2024 the number of workers in the province rose by 7.8% and the Padua district created almost 10,000 new jobs.

Job centre

Padua's Centro per l'impiego (public job centre) is at Sottopassaggio Saggin 5. Like every job centre in Veneto it sees people by appointment only, booked through the Veneto Lavoro assistance portal or on the single number 049 7448041. The targeted-placement office for people with disabilities and the area coordination office are at piazza Bardella 12.
