Shopping
Piazza dell'Unità is the area's historic shopping centre; the neighbourhood market is on via Albani. In 2014 the Comune recorded the closure of many long-standing shops, whose premises were often taken over by businesses run by people of non-Italian origin (greengrocers, hairdressers, bars), and named the risk of commercial decline as one of the problems to address.
Casa di Khaoula library
The Casa di Khaoula municipal library is at via di Corticella 104, in one of the restored historic stables of the Arcoveggio racecourse. It is a general-information library with a particular focus on intercultural themes: it has a section on interculture and migration, a children's area for ages up to about ten with a small room for babies, 68 study seats, free Wi-Fi and Italian courses for foreigners.
Opening hours: Monday 14–19, Tuesday to Friday 9–19, Saturday 9–14. During the tram works pedestrian access is guaranteed, while vehicles cannot enter the courtyard until further notice.
