Metro
Line B crosses EUR with three stations — EUR Magliana to the north-west, EUR Palasport beside the lake and the Palazzo dello Sport, EUR Fermi on viale America — and ends just to the south at Laurentina, a major bus node with a park-and-ride. From EUR Fermi to Termini is about twenty minutes (Piramide, Colosseo, Cavour along the way). At EUR Magliana the Magliana station of the Metromare (former Roma–Lido, run by Cotral) lets you change for Ostia and the coast. ATAC publishes the status of station lifts and escalators on its website.
At night the nMB night line follows metro B and stops at the EUR stations; the map of the n lines is on the ATAC website.
Buses and cars
There are no trams. Buses run along via Cristoforo Colombo towards Piramide, Circo Massimo and piazza Venezia and towards Ostia, along viale dell'Oceano Pacifico and viale America, and from Laurentina they branch out to the districts to the south (Spinaceto, Tor de' Cenci, Trigoria) and towards the Appia. EUR is the Rome district most designed for the car: the Colombo reaches the Grande Raccordo Anulare ring road and the Roma–Fiumicino motorway in ten minutes, but at rush hour congestion is heavy and daytime parking belongs to commuters.
Airports, bikes, on foot
For Fiumicino by public transport you take metro B to Piramide and change for the FL1 train at Roma Ostiense, or to Termini for the Leonardo Express; by car or taxi the Roma–Fiumicino motorway is a few minutes away. For Ciampino, ATAC bus 720 leaves from the Laurentina terminus with an ordinary Metrebus Roma ticket. The district suits cycling thanks to its wide avenues and the Colombo cycle path, but distances are long and the centre is far; shared bikes and e-scooters are available with less coverage than in the centre. On foot you reach all three metro stations from the lake in ten to fifteen minutes.
