Buses, trains and tickets
SASA, the largest transport company in South Tyrol, is an in-house company of the Province in which the municipalities of Bolzano, Merano and Laives also hold shares; its fleet includes electric, hydrogen and hybrid buses. Timetables and tickets for all buses, trains and cable cars of the provincial system are on altoadigemobilità, with a ticket finder, sales points, the validation system and the tap&go service.
The altoadigemobilità Pass is available for several user groups: in the Flex and FlexFamily versions the fare is calculated per kilometre at validation; pupils, students and seniors pay only an annual fee, there is a product for people over 65, those with a disability of 74% or more travel free with the 365 Free and the Fix365 is free for under-19s. The Euregio Ticket combines the Fix365 with travel in Tyrol and Trentino. Tax deductions on the cost of the pass apply for 2025.
Car and bicycle
To reduce nitrogen dioxide the municipality applies traffic restrictions by mayoral ordinance; the provincial criteria normally cover weekdays, from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, but municipalities may extend them. For cyclists altoadigemobilità offers Bicibox secure bike parking and rules for carrying bicycles on public transport.
