Getting around Verona: ATV buses, trolleybus on the way, ZTL
ATV buses in the city and province, with the Aerobus (line 199) between Valerio Catullo airport and Porta Nuova station. The first trolleybus line is being tested in 2026 and the works still change bus routes and timetables. The historic centre is a ZTL with electronic gates; on-street and multi-storey parking are run by AMT3.

Buses and airport
Buses are run by ATV. The Aerobus, ATV line 199, links Valerio Catullo airport with Porta Nuova station, departing every twenty minutes; tickets are sold at the machine in the arrivals area, on board by payment card or in the Ticket Bus Verona app, which also gives real-time times. From Porta Nuova, urban lines 11, 12, 13 and 52 reach Porta Vescovo, the city's second station and the stop for the Santa Marta university site, in about twenty-five minutes. The VeronaCard, valid for 24 or 48 hours, includes bus travel.
The trolleybus
Verona is building its first trolleybus network. The project, financed in 2023 also by the European Investment Bank, foresees four lines totalling 23 kilometres, 39 trolleybuses and a new depot, with AMT3 as implementing body. In June 2026 AMT3 presented the first vehicles: tests throughout the summer, ATV drivers in training, service expected to start in autumn or by the end of the year at the latest. Between September and October 2026 works were still open (for example on viale Spolverini) and bus lines had route and timetable changes: check the notices before travelling.
Car, ZTL and parking
In the historic centre vehicle access and circulation are limited, at set hours, to particular categories of users; electronic gates check for unauthorised vehicles. Temporary transit and parking permits are requested from AMT3, by appointment only. AMT3 also runs paid on-street parking (blue bays) and the multi-storey car parks: Centro (via Campo Marzo), Polo Zanotto, Tribunale, Stazione Est and Stazione Ovest (via Città di Nimes), Porta Vescovo. On its ZTL page the municipality posts notices of anti-smog traffic restrictions.
