Getting around from Bolognina

Central station close by, with an entrance on via de' Carracci to the high-speed platforms. Two tram lines: the Rossa, being tested, along via Matteotti and via Ferrarese towards the Fiera, and the Verde, under construction, along via Matteotti and via di Corticella. Porta Galliera – Matteotti/Alta Velocità interchange hub with the People Mover and bus station.

Station

Bolognina is close to the central station: the via de' Carracci entrance leads directly to the high-speed platforms. The Porta Galliera and Matteotti/Alta Velocità tram stops are designed as an interchange hub with the station, high-speed rail, the People Mover to the airport, the bus station and car and bike sharing.

Tram

The Linea Rossa runs along via Matteotti and via Ferrarese to the Zucca stop, towards the Fiera, and towards the centre it serves piazza dell'Unità; towards the Fiera it continues along via della Liberazione. The first tram reached Bologna on 8 September 2026 and the line is being tested; the Comune's schedule gives 2027 for the start of service.

The Linea Verde, starting from via dei Mille, runs the whole length of via Matteotti in both directions, with a stop just below via Algardi, and connects from piazza dell'Unità to via di Corticella; the railway underpass near the Aldini Valeriani institute will be widened.
