Metro Line 1

Museo, designed by Gae Aulenti and opened in April 2001, is next to the National Archaeological Museum. Dante, also by Gae Aulenti, was inaugurated on 27 March 2002 beneath piazza Dante. Toledo, designed by Oscar Tusquets Blanca, has a second exit on largo Montecalvario. Università was designed by Karim Rashid. Duomo, by Studio Fuksas, lies beneath piazza Nicola Amore at the junction of via Duomo and corso Umberto I, with platforms about 40 metres down: excavations uncovered parts of the temple of the Isolympic Games founded by Augustus in AD 2, and the project includes a museum area of about 1,000 square metres.

At Municipio, Line 1 meets Line 6, which runs to Chiaia, Mergellina (change for Line 2) and Fuorigrotta.

Flegrean railways from Montesanto

From the EAV station at Montesanto run the Cumana (Montesanto – Torregaveta), which calls at Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Fuorigrotta, Mostra, Edenlandia, Agnano and Bagnoli before continuing to Pozzuoli, and the Circumflegrea (Montesanto – Licola). Under the timetable in force from 11 September 2026 the first Cumana leaves Montesanto at 5:15 and the last at 22:40, with a train roughly every quarter of an hour in the middle of the day.
